FST’s annual Emporium now takes place over two days in March (15 & 16 March 2017, Beacon Arts Centre, Greenock), this event allows for focus on both long-term planning and discussing ideas at the very early stages of development (Early Dialogue Day) and on short and medium term planning at our established Market Day. For more information about Early Dialogue Day (15 March 2017) click here. For more information about Market Day (16 March 2017) click here.
Bookings are now closed. We will shortly send all Market Day attendees the delegate list for them to make their selections for the face to face sessions.
Early Dialogue Day - On this day, producing companies and artists present work, at the very early stages of creation to venues, promoters and producers with the capacity to produce the work of other artists. This process provides an opportunity for both parties to discuss artistic plans 12 – 24 months in advance of the production stage and for promoters/venues/producers to feedback and express their interest. A panel of experienced promoters/venues select an exciting collection of artists/companies to present on the day, who will represent both established and newer voices aiming to tour across a range of scales, genres and audiences.
Market Day - This day follows the already successful Emporium format, allowing artists and venues to promote and programme existing work which will be available for touring within the next 6-12 months. It includes a range of networking and promotional opportunities including Open Exchange and scheduled face-to-face sessions with the companies, promoters and venues of your choice.
“It is a fantastic opportunity to get so many people from across the sector together”
“As a new programmer it was good to make face to face connections and I also found the 1 minute shout out slots very useful to hear about those I couldn’t get to meet face to face”
“Meeting so many different people. I love the blatant, no-nonsense networking that FST organise. Producers, promoters, artists, all getting completely head-zapped together. Nice way to break the ice!”
“All FST staff were encouraging and helpful. Round table presentations/discussions were a fantastic opportunity to spread the word about a project, among people and organisations who can really help it forwards. It was useful to find out a bit about what each specific venue is seeking for their programming”
