Cryptic are currently looking for creatively ambitious artists with innovative ideas for their 2019/20 Cryptic Nights Programme. Recognising the need for a regular, supportive platform for emerging Scottish based artists with fresh ideas, Cryptic launched Cryptic Nights in 2009 and has since presented over 270 artists in partnership with the Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA) in Glasgow. Many of the supported artists have gone on to have highly successful careers, most notably Rachel Maclean, Robbie Thomson, Sarah Kenchington, James Houston, Anna Meredith and Yann Seznec.
As they celebrate 10 years of Cryptic Nights, they are looking for emerging artists based in Scotland, who create high quality, innovative visual work with original music or sound-based elements at its core. They are particularly interested in submissions that use technology in new and creative ways and, with Cryptic’s support, selected artists will be guided in the development of an existing idea or piece of work.
The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Monday 16 July. For further information and application details visit Cryptic’s website.
