Federation of Scottish Theatre (FST) is proud to announce the recipients of their Spring/Summer 2025 Bursaries. FST received almost double the applications than in their previous round of submissions, highlighting the importance of FST Bursaries in allowing emerging artists to gain vital experience in the performing arts sector.
Funding eight bursaries at the cost of £33,547.15, FST are delighted to present awards to Anna Whealing, who will be working with the Tron Theatre and their Artistic Director Jemima Levick in an Assistant Director role over a twelve week period; Andi Brogan, who will be joining Scottish Dance Theatre (SDT), over twenty-four weeks, as an Apprentice Choreographer, working towards SDT’s 40th anniversary; Amy Lawrence, working with Emma Jayne Park for eight weeks as an Assistant Movement Director and Dramaturg on multiple live performance projects; Cadence Yu, joining Manipulate Arts as an Assistant Producer for international work over an eight week period; Carine Barinia who will be taking on an Assistant Producer role for BUZZCUT Festival 2026 for twelve weeks; Emma Lynne Harley, working with Birds of Paradise for eleven weeks as an Assistant Director on a live art performance scheduled for 2026; Georgia Porter, who will be joining Surge Festival as a Producer over a two month period; and Rachael Keiller, who will be taking on an Assistant Director role for The Sound of Music at Pitlochry Festival Theatre. FST are committed to supporting professional development within the performing arts sector, and hope that this round of bursaries will help to lift brilliant emerging artists into the industry.
FST Bursaries have been running since 2008. In this time, the bursaries have supported over 100 individuals to gain valuable experience in a sector with increasingly higher barriers of entry. With almost double the applications received in this round of bursaries than last, FST understands the importance of the experience that these bursaries allow emerging artists to achieve and thank their funders, Creative Scotland, for the ability to facilitate these eight bursaries for Spring/Summer 2025.
The next round of FST Bursaries open in Autumn 2025. Potential applicants and placement hosts can find out more information on FST’s website: https://www.scottishtheatre.org/sector-support/fst-bursaries/
