Join Our Team: Administration and Finance Assistant

We are looking for a new Administration and Finance Assistant to join the FST Team!

Salary: £14,786 (£24,644 FTE)
Hours: Part-time, 21 hours per week, worked across three days.
Contract term: Permanent
Location & Hybrid Working: Hybrid working at home and in FST’s Edinburgh office (minimum 1 day per week), with occasional travel elsewhere in Scotland

Accurate finances, effective systems and well-organised administration are essential to FST’s ability to support its members and deliver its work across Scotland’s performing arts sector.

That’s why this role matters.

We’re looking for someone with practical experience of day-to-day bookkeeping and administration who enjoys working accurately, keeping things organised and providing a helpful service. Working closely with the Operations and Finance Coordinator and colleagues across FST, you will help ensure that our finances, office operations and wider team activity run smoothly.

If that sounds like the kind of work that motivates you, we’d be delighted to hear from you!

The deadline for applications is 12pm noon, Friday 16 October 2026

You will receive a response from FST by 5pm, Tuesday 20 October (via email).

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 4 November 2026 (in Edinburgh).

Accessibility

We are committed to making our recruitment process as accessible and inclusive as possible. If you require the recruitment pack or application form in an alternative format or would like to discuss any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process, please let us know. We’ll do everything we reasonably can to support you.

Recruitment process

We want our recruitment process to be welcoming, transparent and accessible.
Our aim is to help every applicant demonstrate their abilities as fairly as possible.

Application

Applications should be submitted using the application form provided. We use a standard application form to ensure each applicant has the same opportunity to demonstrate how they meet the person specification.

If completing the application form presents any barriers, please get in touch. We’re happy to discuss alternative formats or reasonable adjustments.

Shortlisting

Personal information is removed before applications are shortlisted.  Applications will be assessed against the published person specification by a selection panel.

Interviews

Shortlisted candidates will receive interview questions in advance, normally at least 48 hours before interview.

Our interviews are intended to be conversations that allow candidates to demonstrate how they think, work and collaborate, rather than tests of memory or performance under pressure.

Interviews will normally take place in person, although alternative arrangements can be discussed where appropriate. Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.

After Interview

References will be sought for the preferred candidate before a formal offer is confirmed. We aim to provide constructive feedback to all interviewed candidates and, where possible, to applicants who request feedback following shortlisting.

Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Access

We believe Scotland’s performing arts sector is strongest when it reflects the diversity of the communities it serves.

We’re committed to creating an inclusive recruitment process and warmly encourage applications from people whose backgrounds and experiences are currently under-represented across the performing arts workforce and leadership.

Reasonable adjustments are available throughout every stage of the recruitment process. If there is anything we can do to make the process more accessible, we’d be pleased to discuss this with you.
