We look forward to welcoming you, your fellow FST members and guest speakers for our 2022 AGM and regular Members Meeting.

As the sector continues to experience volatile and challenging times, the Members Meeting will focus on the impact of the cost crisis. We will hear from funders and explore practical ideas and advocacy work that is underway.

The Members Meeting also draws together presentations and discussion on several important areas on which FST has been working in partnership. These include Parents and Carers in Performing Arts (PIPA) and work tackling sexual harassment in the sector.

Important agenda update:
We will now be joined by additional Scottish Government officials and a Parliamentary researcher gathering information about impact of the cost crisis on the cultural sector.

Hazel Parkinson is Creative Industries and Media Policy Team Leader and will share some wider financial context for members, including the recently launched Programme for Government and the emergency budget review currently being undertaken.

Sarah Boyack,  MSP, is seeking to better understand cultural organisations’ experience of the cost crisis and stimulate public debate on the impact this could have on jobs, livelihoods and access to culture. Sarah’s researcher, Naya Koulocheri, will join the meeting to ensure that members’ concerns are passed on to Sarah and key issues raised. Sarah Boyack is Scottish Parliament member for Lothians and spokesperson on Constitution, External Affairs and Culture. She is a member of the Constitution, Europe, External Affairs and Culture Committee and convenor of the Cross-Party Group in the Scottish Parliament on Culture and Communities.

We look forward to seeing you and, in the meantime, if you have any questions or queries, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

If you’re unable to attend or wish to urgently discuss how the cost crisis is affecting your organisation or you as an individual, prior to the meeting, please contact fiona.sturgeonshea@scottishtehatre.org directly.

We want to make this session as accessible as possible and will provide live captioning both on Zoom and on our 121Captions site, here, which offers a range of accessibility options. If there is anything else we can do to respond to your access requirements, please get in touch with us by emailing admin@scottishtheatre.org to discuss.

A full agenda and minutes of the last FST members meeting on 23 June 2022 will be circulated as soon as possible.
