This is an in-person event at the Traverse Theatre, as part of the FST Summer School Technical training week for staff who use, supervise or manage the use of ladders and temporary access equipment.
This is a CPD certified course that has been commissioned by the FST and will be run by the ABTT, the Association of British Theatre Technicians, and is a sector-specific training course. The trainer is Production Manager Louise Birchall and this session is aimed at those working as stage technicians, production, and event staff.
The Work at Height Regulations requires formal training for people who use ladders and other access equipment. People should be competent to carry out their duties at the level of their responsibility. They should be able to understand potential hazards related to their work, detect defects or shortcomings in the work, recognise health and safety implications that pre-exist or arise, and take appropriate action to maintain safe conditions of work.
Please note, participants are required to bring safety footwear and hard hats.
