Every August, Scotland hosts the world’s largest performing arts festival: Edinburgh Fringe! As Edinburgh’s population doubles, things can often feel chaotic. The Edinburgh Festival and Fringe is a brilliant time to connect with other artists, venues, programmers, and presenters, as well as showcasing work.
We want both FST Members and non-members alike to be able to make the most out of the busy month of August. For this reason, we have compiled a list of resources, events, and opportunities to help assist the Scottish performing arts sector to thrive.

Fringe Marketplace
Fringe Marketplace is an overall programme of support for professional work presenting at the Edinburgh Fringe, helping artists to connect with industry and secure opportunities beyond the festival.
All artists registered with the Fringe are welcome to be involved in the Marketplace.
Fringe Connect
Fringe Connect is a digital platform to connect with peers, exchange information, and build lasting relationships within the Fringe community. This is a brilliant tool that we highly encourage FST members and non-members alike utilise.
Artists and friends and patrons can sign-up to Fringe Connect, and industry members can do so via accreditation. More information on accreditation can be found below.
Fringe Central Programme
The Fringe Central Programme includes details of the range of events held at Fringe Central on Infirmary Street, including:
- Industry panels
- International focus events
- Masterclasses on taking work to screen
- Coffee morning meet-ups
To attend events you have to be accredited with the Fringe Society, and each event is relevant to certain audiences.
Accreditation
Accreditation gives you access to the Fringe Society’s services for arts industry members, as well as the Fringe Marketplace and the opportunity to request comped tickets.
The Fringe Society recommends becoming accredited if you are involved in the industry as an artist, producer, agent, programmer, or other industry professional.

Momentum
Momentum is the collective Edinburgh Festivals delegate programme that aims to build international relationships and cultivate collaborative opportunities that runs throughout the month of August. Momentum is delivered in partnership between British Council Scotland, Creative Scotland and Festivals Edinburgh.
Momentum 2026 will run from 10-29 August and will welcome performing arts focussed delegations from:
- China (Shenzhen), 10-14 August
- Nordics, 11-15 August
- Sub-Saharan Africa*, 17-21 August
- Middle East and North Africa, 19-23 August
- South East Asia*, 23-27 August
- Türkiye, 24-28 August
And two artform delegations:
- Literature, 18-22 August
- Visual Arts, 25-29 August

With Spice
With Spice was launched in 2025 by LULA.XYZ as a pocket-sized handbook highlighting Edinburgh Fringe performances led by Global Majority artists. This year, With Spice arrives with its most ambitious offering:
- A free editorial magazine — 50 pages of Global Majority culture, distributed across Edinburgh and London
- A limited edition guidebook — the essential pocket guide to Global Majority shows at the Fringe
- An audience-powered digital hub — oommoo.com
- A free ticketing scheme — connecting Global Majority community groups directly with shows
Equity: Working at the Edinburgh Fringe
FST x SOLT & UK Theatre: Festivals Reception 2026
FST, SOLT and UK Theatre’s Festivals Reception is an invite only event, open to all FST Members. This year’s reception is inspired by the theme Partnership Across Borders, celebrating the connections, collaborations and shared ambitions that strengthen the performing arts sector across Scotland, the UK and beyond. As artists, organisations and audiences gather in Edinburgh from around the world during festival season, the event will explore how creative exchange, collaboration and collective action help shape a vibrant, resilient and globally connected cultural landscape.
