Board Members – Puppet Animation Scotland

Board Members (4-5 Positions Available)

Are you excited by puppetry, visual theatre and animation?  Could you offer your skills and energy to help build a strong sector for showcasing this kind of work and supporting the artists who make it? With several of our board members due to step down in 2021, we are currently seeking up to five new Board Members to join the organisation.

The Board is made up of ten stakeholders from various backgrounds and sectors, from across and with strong connections to Scotland.  We currently have over 50% practising artists on the board and are looking to bolster these perspectives with people who work in other roles within arts organisations, as well as those with experience in Finance, Human Resources and the Legal sector. However, we will also consider applicants from beyond these fields – we are looking for candidates with a range of experience, and you do not have previous board experience to apply.

We want to ensure that moving forward our board fully reflects the communities that we represent. As such we are looking to have a broader range of societal perspectives on the board and would like to strongly encourage applications from the d/Deaf and disabled community; the LGBTQI+ community and people who identify as Black, Asian, Latinx, Indigenous, People of Colour, Biracial, Middle Eastern and North African or have mixed heritage. To find out who is currently on our board and staff team please see our team page here and find our #PullUporShutUp statistics here.

Board members will be required to attend 2-hour evening board meetings 4 times per year (remote attendance is possible) and a board away day once per year. The Board positions are unpaid and non-executive. To find out more about the role of a board member for a charity, please read the OSCR’s Easy Read Guide to Being a Charity Trustee.

The deadline for applications is 1 June 2021 at 12noon. For full details about this role and about us and our work, the board and the role of a trustee and about the recruitment process, please see our Board Recruitment Pack. Please contact Heidi on info@puppetanimation.org if you have any questions at all.
