Head of Programmes – YDance

Main Duties

  • To lead and manage a range of projects across the ENGAGE and LEARN strands of work
  • To ensure adherence to all YDance policies and procedures including risk assessment, child protection and safeguarding, EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion), environmental and health and safety
  • To oversee and manage project budgets with the Artistic Director and Executive Director
  • To act as line manager for teaching staff on projects ensuring staff are supported and meeting YDance expectations.
  • To support the achievement of the YDance strategic development plan 25-28.
  • To develop and maintain partnerships across Scotland with a range of partners various sectors including health, education, third sector, social justice, and youth sector to develop new and innovative projects
  • To ensure the implementation and adherence to robust safeguarding policies and
    procedures throughout all YDance programmes and activities, prioritising the safety, well-being, and protection of children and young people always.
  • To monitor the quality assurance of YDance programmes
  • To evaluate and report to the Artistic Director, funding bodies and partners on impact and reach of projects as required.
  • To train and develop staff and self to maintain the quality of YDance’s work
  • To work with the Fundraiser and Senior Management as appropriate to source funding for areas of development in line with the strategic plan
  • To work with the Marketing department to develop the reach of YDance projects and courses.
  • To plan and lead dance workshops with children and young people when necessary
  • To develop, manage and deliver a range of accredited courses and awards across all YDance projects when necessary
