We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and fast working musical director for our upcoming musical Crocodile Rock by Andy McGregor.
This post would suit a music director with a background or interest in working within a musical theatre setting.
We are looking for someone who can:
Interpret the composer’s score on the piano, add their own input throughout the process and be always open and flexible to quick changes.
Teach the music to the performer and offer technical and creative input to their performance.
Arrange the show for two additional musicians and create backing tracks in a variety of styles, mainly folk, soft-rock and modern pop.
Hire the band and be comfortable rehearsing the musicians.
Perform keyboards on stage (perhaps engaging with the performer in a non-verbal way).
Ideally be able to provide live backing vocals during the performance.
You should be level-headed in a pressurised environment, be extremely reliable, excellent at time management and be excited about the creative process of making a new Scottish musical!
Rehearsals: 9th May – 3rd June 2022
Performances: 4th – 12th June 2022
Fee: £2,500 + travel expenses in accordance with Equity and ITC Commuting cost guidelines.
