About the role
As a science communicator with Edinburgh Science Learning, you will form part of a team delivering the workshops and shows that make up our flagship school outreach programme, Generation Science. High-quality science communication is at the heart of what Edinburgh Science Learning is all about and our Science Communicators are our ambassadors.
Generation Science tours across Scotland and delivers engaging science experiences to classes and schools. We depend on our staff being reliable and committed to the role for the duration of the tour and willing to engage in all aspects of the Generation Science experience from
delivery or performance of shows and workshops to work closely alongside a touring partner.
Are you energetic, good with children and naturally outgoing? Are you looking to gain key experience for your future career in primary education; performing arts or youth work? Edinburgh Science are looking for performers and science communicators to deliver science shows and workshops in primary schools all over Scotland. You will have confident communication skills, a passion for presenting and some experience of working with children. Performance skills and some knowledge of science is desirable but not essential but an interest in learning is a must. Confident drivers, with at least 1 year of driving experience are strongly preferred. Applicants must live within a 30-minute commute of Edinburgh or Glasgow city centres.
