Tramway, Remote Residencies

Tramway is pleased to announce our Remote Residencies programme, a call out to Scotland based artists working in the fields of dance, live art or contemporary performance with a desire to collaborate and participate in a virtual/online international exchange.

Offering a context for artists to test pilot solutions to developing their work across borders whilst COVID 19 continues to reduce international mobility.

ELIGIBILITY

We are accepting proposals from a team of two artistic collaborators who would like to work together remotely between January and March 2021. The lead applicant must be a dance, live art or contemporary performance artist based in Scotland who would like to collaborate with an artist or creative practitioner based internationally.

HOW DOES IT WORK

We anticipate supporting up to 3 Remote Residency Applications.

Residencies must take place between January and March 2021. Collaborators will be in control of how their virtual alliance is directed, the areas explored, and the outcomes they would like to achieve.

We fully anticipate that the majority of our potential applicants will be working at reduced capacities, and with limited access to resources. There is no expectation of highly polished outcomes but we would be keen that your experience of this remote transaction is shared somehow in a way that feels appropriate. This may include but is not limited to brief; blog posts/reflections, moving image, audio works, virtual sharings (live or pre-recorded), artist to artist conversations.

Anything that can be disseminated digitally and open up our understanding of artist to artist working within the digital sphere.

OFFER: We anticipate supporting up to 3 Remote Residency applications. Accepting proposals from a team of two artistic collaborators who would like to work together remotely between January and March 2021.
FEE: £1400, (We imagine this will cover 1 week of R+D fee plus shared content creation at £700 x 2 collaborators)
DEADLINE: Friday 4 December 2020, 5pm
