Vox Motus
About Vox Motus
Vox Motus is a Glasgow-based company creating vibrant narrative theatre. It was founded by Artistic Directors Jamie Harrison and Candice Edmunds in 2003.
Vox Motus's work is slick, visual and contemporary. Their ethos is to use diverse media, techniques, disciplines or artforms to tell stories in most theatrical and unusual ways. They tell stories they are passionate about; stories that are intriguing, macabre and sometimes downright naughty. While there is a distinct style to their work it is fair to say no two shows are the same.
Vox Motus creates work through public funding and co-productions with theatre venues and arts organisations. The company tours its work nationally and internationally and aims to develop increasingly strong relationships with venues, promoters, collaborators and audiences.
Vox Motus’ work is targeted an audience of 18-35 years. The Artistic Directors aim to dispel the myth prevalent among this age group that ‘theatre is boring’. The company’s audience data shows that its brand of slick, contemporary visual theatre attracts this often under-represented demographic.
Vox Motus has grown year-on-year since its creation in 2003. The Artistic Directors continue to dream up new works of increasing imagination and endeavour. They aim to take these works to the widest possible audience to share Vox Motus’ unique brand of Scottish theatre.
