Federation of Scottish Theatrelogo-fst-text

The Scottish physical performance scene (a term that covers: street theatre; outdoor performance; circus; physical theatre) is going through a period of rapid growth. In response ARTICULATION was formed. On behalf of artists, it talks to the people who have the power to make things happen - Creative Scotland, Local Authorities and International Producers.
Articulation has a small Board made up of key individuals working to support the development of physical performance in Scotland. There is a growing recognition of the value of physical performance by policy makers. Articulation seeks to identify gaps in physical performance provision, and to recognise both its shortcomings and its strengths.
It must be acknowledged that the current developments are building on the tireless work of individuals too numerous to mention by name. Scotland is reaching the point at which physical performance has the potential to fully develop its dynamism, sustainability and calibre of work. There are still many areas that need attention. The single biggest priority is to attract and retain talent in Scotland.
