Kath Burlinson
I am a theatre maker specialising in devised and ensemble work. I found the Authentic Artist Collective in 2009 and run Authentic Artist workshops for artists of all disciplines in Scotland, England and internationally.
I am interested and challenged by the words 'authentic' and 'artist' - what they mean, how they trigger us, if we aspire to them, if we identify with them, if we reject them.
Recent work includes solo show InVisible Lines, co-devising and directing Mairi Campbell's Pulse and Auld Lang Syne (Made in Scotland showcases 2016 and 2018), directing Kate Maravan's The Old House (High Tide, Theatre 503, Assembly Roxy 2019).
Previous awards include Manchester Evening News Award for Best Fringe Performance for solo show The Mother's Bones and, with previous co-founded theatre company The Weird Sisters, international awards including Best Show Adelaide Fringe.
Alongside my artistic work I deliver leadership, personal impact and communications skills training for RADA Business. I live in Blackness, near Linlithgow.
