Morven Macbeth
Actor | Theatre Maker | Facilitator | Associate Practitioner and Company Producer with imitating the dog
Morven is an actor and theatre maker, a facilitator and company producer. She is an Associate Practitioner with UK theatre company imitating the dog, whose work has, for over 20 years, explored the boundaries between theatre and technology, the recorded and the live. With the company, Morven has toured extensively both nationally and internationally, from Brazil to Azerbaijan, Lebanon to Taiwan, performing as well as facilitating workshop programmes and leading residencies.
Her recent work as an actor with other theatre companies includes Opening Skinner’s Box with Improbable, which opened the Lincoln Center Festival in New York in 2017, Bring The Happy with Invisible Flock, which was made and performed with the support of the British Council in Almaty, Kazakhstan in 2018, and Life Class with Bodies In Flight in 2019, marking the company’s 30th year of making interdisciplinary and collaborative performance.
Morven is a Mental Health First Aider, and is currently training to become an accredited RD1st Coach. All of her work and creative curiosity stems from a core belief that story-telling, and the human need to be heard, is fundamental to a functioning, flourishing society, one in which we surely want to live.
