UK Government announce insurance scheme
On 5 August the Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced a new UK Government-backed  insurance scheme worth over £750 million, with the aim of helping the sector plan events ‘with confidence’ through to next year. UK Theatre/ SOLT released a statement following the announcement which echoes many of the concerns raised regarding these outlined plans. The scheme will be available from September 2021 and run until the end of September 2022.
