Scotland’s Performing Arts Marketplace

After a six year hiatus, FST’s Emporium is back! This two-day event will kick off with our early dialogue day where artists with works in progress can speak to venue representatives and programmers. Day two will provide one-to-one meetings and broader networking opportunities during market day.

Taking place across 27 and 28 October 2026 at The Briggait in Glasgow, Emporium 2026 is open to all and is set to be an exciting couple of days of celebration for Scottish performing arts, bringing the industry together.

General registration closes on 20 September 2026.

Early Dialogue Day – 27 October

Early Dialogue Day (EDD) is for producing companies and artists to present work at the very early stages of creation to venues and promoters. Please note EDD is an invite only day, if you are a venue or promoter interested in attending please contact hello@scottishtheatre.org to register your interest. 

A panel of experienced promoters/venues will select an exciting collection of artists/companies to present on the day. This selection will represent both established and newer voices, aiming to tour across a range of scales, genres, formats and audiences. The event will provide an opportunity for both parties to discuss artistic plans 12-24 months in advance of the production stage and for promoters/venues to feedback and express their interest.

Market Day – 28 October

This larger gathering will focus on networking, information-sharing, and sector discussion. 

Market Day allows artists and venues to promote and programme existing work that is available for touring within the next 6-12 months.

Market Day includes open exchange sessions, which will provide the opportunity to update delegates on future projects and plans. It also features one-to-one meetings, providing an opportunity for targeted discussions and to broaden contacts.

There will also be plenty of time for more informal networking in our themed blether zones, and to celebrate with the rest of the sector!

The Venue

Emporium 2026 will take place at The Briggait, a beautiful venue in Glasgow.

Accessibility

The spaces used during the Emporium event at the Briggait are fully accessible. A quiet space will be provided and available for use at any time throughout the two-day event. We’re also aware some may find one-to-one conversations in a large space challenging, therefore we’ll have a separate room available for those who may require a quieter space for conversations. As well as collecting access requirements during registration, we’ll be offering all delegates the opportunity to have a chat with us to talk through any questions or concerns you have around attending the event. We’ll be providing further access information on this event shortly.

Bursaries for attending this event

If you are a freelance individual (member or non-member) and feel you are unable to cover the cost of a ticket to attend this event, FST has a limited number of bursary places available.

Bursaries for Travel & Caring Responsibilities

If you are an individual or part of an organisation travelling 50+ miles per way from your company/home location in Scotland, you are eligible to apply for a travel bursary up to £50 (one per organisation).

We also offer financial support of up to £50 to assist with caring committments.

Getting There

The Briggait is in Glasgow’s city centre. The venue is directly next to the main cycle path that follows the River Clyde. If travelling by train, The Briggait is approximately a ten minute walk from Queen Street Station or five minutes from Argyle Street Station. Alternatively, many bus routes stop on Stockwell Street which is two minutes from The Briggait. Car parking is available directly across the road at King Street car park.
