Scottish Youth Theatre
Scottish Youth Theatre is a national young artists’ development organisation. Our purpose is to collaborate with young theatre artists to create experiences and events that reverberate in their lives, their communities and their country.
Each project we produce provides young artists with space, care and creative stimulus to explore theatre and make new performance work on their own terms. Scotland is our venue, meaning we seek to connect with our country’s extraordinary, diverse young people in different places, sharing and celebrating their untold stories, their creative leadership and unique perspectives on the world.
We cultivate an environment where participants are at the helm of their own creative journey and the work they make is their opportunity to interrogate, question and reflect on things that matter to them. We broaden their artistic experience by introducing them to a range of art forms and professional practitioners to inform and inspire new directions in their work, curating and crafting their art for relevant audiences and different physical and digital platforms.
